Promote the game of Golf to those who have an upper extremity disability due to a Physically Challenged condition for the purpose of Competition, Recreation, and Physical & Emotional Rehabilitation.

Brief History of ​NAOAGA

October 2000

Alan Gentry, Don Fightmaster, Bill Frey, and Scott Lusk (from nearby Guston) gathered at a downtown Irish pub to discuss forming a one-armed golfers’ organization. They held their first organizational meeting that day and appointed Mr. Gentry as the inaugural president.

Eight months later, 32 one-armed golfers from across the USA came to Louisville to compete in the first NAOAGA championships.

In addition to Gentry, Scott Lusk, Tom Hartnett, and Bill Frey Jr. have all served as past presidents of the organization. Daniel Aldrich is the current president of NAOAGA, having been elected in July 2017.

2024

Since its inaugural year, the NAOAGA annual meeting and championship (AM&C) has taken place each year at a different venue across North America. The AM&C has been held in the West (Nevada twice), the Midwest (Indiana twice and Chicago), Canada (Montréal and Prince Edward Island), and the South (Kentucky and Florida three times). The 2024 event celebrated our 24th anniversary.

​NAOAGA Programs

​​The North American One-Armed Golfer Association (NAOAGA) was established in October 2000 to promote golf among individuals with upper extremity disabilities.

AM&C

NAOAGA hosts an Annual Meeting & Championship for its membership each year at a different championship venue in North America. In its first 16 years of existence, events have been successfully staged from:

NAOAGA hosts a Winter Regional each year typically in January. Join us for a fun filled 2-3 day event in the sunny south!

The Fightmaster Cup

The Fightmaster Cup is a trademarked international competition featuring top players from NAOAGA and the United Kingdom’s Society of One-Armed Golfers.

Junior Program

NAOAGA started our Junior division in 2019 to introduce and grow the game of golf to Juniors with an upper limb impairment. Our Junior program is fully funded by donations received from individuals, family, friends, and businesses who have a love and passion to impact the lives of the Juniors.

NAOAGA offer scholarships for a Junior and a legal guardian to attend our tournaments covering registration and travel expenses. NAOAGA will also assist financially for Juniors to participate in other Adaptive events as well. Juniors qualifying age brackets Senior in Highschool and under.
